Apple expected to announce release date of iPad 2
Apple expected to announce release date of iPad 2 - Apple is expected to announce the much anticipated iPad 2 Wednesday at 11 a.m. after much speculation about the device’s features and release date.
More than a year after the first iPad was announced, the sequel to Apple’s best seller will reportedly be showcased at an event this morning in San Francisco.US retailer Best Buy has reportedly deleted the original iPad from its retail inventory, suggesting that the second gen version will hit shops immediately after it's announced, which has happened previously.
The new iPad is expected to have the same 9.7 inch screen as its predecessor, which sold nearly 15 million copies, but the device will likely feature faster processor speeds.
It is also rumored that Apple will replace the aluminum backing of the first iPad with a lighter carbon fiber casing and lighter profile, significantly faster processors, a nice bump in "memory" (referring to RAM, we assume) and have a "powerful graphics processor", along with a rear camera for photos and a front facing camera for FaceTime.
The iPad 2 – What to expect
Slimmer than original
Higher resolution display
Front and back-facing cameras for Facetime video chats
Lighter than first iPad
9.7 inch screen
